Episode #5: Escort to Information

It wasn't that long before the R&D expert, Terra, joined up with the NESF for the escort mission. After some planning among the group, the group set out towards their destination via the jet they usually used for their insertions. Though some of the fighters could use flight to some extent and Streak had his light ball form, it was something to provide insurance for the others who couldn't fly.

"ETA, five minutes," said the pilot over the intercom. "Get ready to jump in..."

"Is everyone ready?" The intercom bleeped.

Nadie began to nod, "I am."

"Right," Streak replied.

"I think.." Corey blinked.

Zukai and Makuta stayed silent.

"So how exactly is this gonna work...we are jumping from a jet that's going faster them Mach I---" Terra began to calculate.

Makuta walked past Zukai, and the Saiyans watched him with a raised eyebrow. Makuta calmly grabbed Terra by the back of his shirt. The scientist stopped mid sentence, mouth still wide open. His eyes grew wide as Makuta pushed the button for the door.

"I won't be stuck with you any longer then I need to be..." Makuta muttered, jumping out the door with Terra.

"Well...he's..." Zukai began, trailing off.

"Eccentric? Yeah..." Nadie sighed. "Could have at least gotten him a parachute..." she continued, putting on hers.

Corey and Streak put on their parachute, and were soon joined by Zukai, who could fly and didn't need it. To keep up with appearances, Drew put his on, but Zach was ready to jump.

"I'll go on ahead, make sure Makuta doesn't accidentally kill Terra doing that crap. I'll meet up with you, Drew, later on, just as planned." Zach said, leaping out of the craft.

"Very well." Drew said as Zach left. "Alright, everyone else, get ready."

"Ten..." The voice crackled. "Nine..."

The countdown continued.

"Three..."

"Two..."

"Neo-Earth's Special Forces, spread your wings and fly!"

Each of the remaining fighters in the jet began to leap out of the jet, and began quickly falling towards Earth...

The NESF's decent began to quicken, then slow as the respective methods were used. They could see the building from their height. Just below them however was a forest that surrounded said building. Finally, they touched down and began to take account of things.

"Wonder were Zach, Makuta, and Terra landed..." Nadie scratched her head, "Kind of not a way to start a mission...I would think..."

"The faster we get this done---" Streak began.

"The faster we get this done...the more time we'll have for training." Drew interrupted.

"This is gonna be a running gag...isn't it...?" Zukai thought

A distance away from where the others landed, multiple trees had twisted together into a sort of cushion. In said cushion now lay a dizzy Terra, and Makuta as he looked over his surroundings. Just below them was Zach, also looking around.

Terra eventually regained himself, and sat up. He looked at the structure beneath him, amazed.

"I see...so this is the elemental manipulation I heard about! The process of converting your bodies latent energy, or ki, into a energy that is able to control or even replicate the elements-" Terra went into explanation about what Makuta had done, before the Namekian stretched his arm out to grab the man once again as he jumped off the tree.

"The others landed quite a ways away..." Zach noted, as Terra was tossed next to him.

"Well...the parachutes were moved according to the wind currents...we...weren't..."

Drew pressed a button on his scouter, "Zach, Makuta, Terra, report? You all safe?" he asked of them.

"Yeah, Drew, we're all here. We're a ways away since we didn't use the parachutes or try to stay with the group. What should we do?"

Drew remained silent for a few moments, "Well, I'm guessing all the teams should regroup, so come to us. After that, we can commence the mission. Try not to make too much noise until we're at the place so we don't get seen before the mission starts. Once we get seen, protecting Terra's going to be a little harder..."

The NESF Members not with Terra began to make their way forward, while the members that where with Terra began to check the surroundings as they traveled onward. 

Nadie looked toward Zukai, "So this is your first mission! How do you feel?"

"Uhh..." Zukai continued walking, "I'm not sure I can answer that just yet. I mean it just started and..."

"Oh...Uhmm...right..." AWKWARD SILENCE IS ENABLED!!!

Makuta, Zach, and Terra began to walk towards the building. They deduced that they landed far closer to it, though they were slowed down due to Terra.

Meanwhile, with the other group, they continued towards the site through the forest, using their Scouters to locate their objective.

"Damn, I think the others might have actually landed closer than we did." Drew said, "Guess it was a good idea to go on anyway..."

"So we are to buy time while they protect Terra?" Corey asked.

"That's right. Terra says there's some stuff we might need to get from their databases..." Drew replied.

The group of three made it to the base, for plot reasons, and looked onwards from the foliage. Ahead of them was the large steel door to the building, guarded by a series of droids.

"Just need to take out the droids and hit the door down..." Makuta noted, cracking his knuckles.

"Simple enough..." Zach agreed.

"Actually..." Terra said quietly. The two others looked at him. The scientist began to poke both his index fingers together and awkwardly chuckled. "Do you think you could...collect them intact?"

"...." Zach turned to Terra, "Intact...?"

"Of course! I'd like to study them for purposes."

"They're weak, why would you need to study them?" 

"That's a valid point Makuta, but it could lead to creating something greater, you can never truly know into you try."

I have this weird feeling... Zukai thought, turning his head.

"Alright..." Makuta said. "Zach, you take care of the droids. I'm going to go knock on the door..."

"Wait! Makuta!" Zach groaned, but Makuta wasn't waiting for an order. "Fine..."

A distant explosion occurred relative to the others. Drew grit his teeth.

"Naturally..." Drew moaned. "Always has to be about blowing shit up with that guy, I swear...Alright, new plan...Get the hell over there!"

Drew immediately took off, running fast towards where that explosion was, followed closely by everyone else.

Makuta lowered his finger gun, a medium sized hole in the center of the large steel door.

"Hmm...it's probably a good thing I didn't go for a three fold like I did back there...it wouldn't have worked..." Makuta noted to himself. He heard several loud electric zaps behind him, and turned to see the droids falling down completely intact. Purple electricity crackled off Zachs arm.

"Will that do?" Zach asked, fixing his jacket. Terra ran out of hiding, examining the droids.

"Definitely!"

Droids began to mobilize once more, this time, heading for the locations of the others. All the while, a large figure in a cloak began to stir inside the building.

"Hmm...the monkeys have shown up with their friends after all, hm? Time to cut the enlistment back..."

Terra began to search the droids. Directly at the pivot of where the headpiece connected to the torso of the bot was a port. Terra quickly reached into a bag he had brought. Producing a small USB Drive, he placed it into the port.

He searched back into the bag, bringing out a small PDA and began to work with it.

"Can't you wait til later...?" Zach questioned turning towards Terra.

Terra detached the Drive and stood up, "These droids aren't very useful. They don't contain much valuable data. However, their AIs are programmed to know this entire area via a GPS Systematic Map. I was able to extract it." He held his hound out towards Zach, "Your scouting device please."

Makuta leaned against the wall with his arms crossed, rolling his eyes at the technological activities. Terra gave Zach his scouter back, and the Saiyan placed it back on and pushed the button.

"You should be able to bring up the map now..." Terra said, putting his equipment back in his bag.

"Good work. Looks like we should head...this way." Zach said, and he turned and began to move down the corridor.

"Way to be useful for once..." Makuta complimented, throwing Terra over his shoulder and running after Zach.

As the other team began to make their way through the corridors, the team outside was busying themselves with buying time by attacking the mobilized droids. It was a fairly simple task to endure. Corey managed to speed through the crowd, landing some attacks, with Streak doing more or less the same. Drew fired casual ki shots, blowing up some. Overall, the other team was doing very well...

Zukai moved his hands back, sword within them. Then within one swift motion, he was a few feet ahead of himself, multiple droids falling to pieces.

Nadie began to fire her concentrated ki bolts that whizzed and curved around trees to hit their marks.

A droid raised both hands into the air. The other droids looked to him "Don't worry, they're definitely feeling the effects of out power-"

The droids head was quickly cut into a good dozen pieces. The other droids followed suit, with their entire bodies taking the damage. Zukai reappeared a step away.

"Hardly..."

"Not much further..." Zach noted. Almost on que with his words, a horde of droids came into view.

"Trouble up ahead!" Terra said, looking up. Makuta smirked. Zach immediately slowed down, knowing exactly what came next. The Namekian tossed the scientist towards the young Saiyan, who had his arms taking up the width of the hallway.

Makuta at this point, quickened his own pace as the droids opened fire. His smirked widened, as he stretched his arms out, his nails stabbing into the walls. Sparks flew as he continued to run with his nails in the walls.

In a blur, the droids were taken out by Makuta's high speed clothesline.

"Hardly!"

"Aren't you tired yet...?" One of the droids chose to ask randomly. Streak proceeded to answer for the group, turning into a ball of light and zapping the droids to submission.

"Hardly..."

"SHUT UP, HEDGEHOG!" Drew blurted out from across the battlefield.

"Why do you hate me so much?!" Streak questioned.

Drew didn't answer, instead choosing to busy himself with crowd control. Suddenly, his scouter beeped, along with all the others that wore them.

"Power Level...140*?! Nearby..." Corey observed, looking around.

*has forgotten what the hell Chill's GT Robo level was but I'm pretty sure it was this

Could it be..him? Zukai turned his head in many directions.

"140? But...That's..." Nadie began but stopped herself.

"Is it really necessary to hold me like this...?" Terra asked.

"There's a power level of 140 towards the other group..." Zach began ignoring Terra.


"They can handle it I'm sure." Makuta smirked.

"And if they can't i'll be happy to get out there and show them how it's done..." Makuta continued. More droids appeared up ahead, and the Namekian prepared to make quick work of them once again.

The others contiuned moving through the forest taking on droids.

"There numbers are dwindling..." Nadie noted. Corey launched himself towards a horde of droids. Zukai was the first to realize the danger, as beam pierced through the treetops and into the ground. The laser quickly turned, carving through the ground like a blade towards the youngest and still airborn fighter.

Utilizing his speed at it's greatest, Zukai launched himself at Corey and tackled him out of the way. The ground the laser had carved soon erupted in a series of explosion down its length.

"Whoa! That was close!" Drew observed. "Any further and Corey would have--Ugh...stop charging in to everything, Corey!"

"Sorry..." Corey apologized as the flames from the explosions began to die down. The scouters beeped again, alerting them of a presence above.

"Tsk...shame that you all care about each other so much. Guess I should have aimed for the rest of the group instead and watch you all scatter to get out of the way..." a voice said from the direction the scouters were indicating.

A machine like before began to come into view, "Oh well, I suppose crying over it would be time wasted." It began to get closer and closer, slowly.

"Are we almost there?" Terra questioned, blaster fire grazing his hair.

"Would you quit squirming around!? Kind of hard to move around in this narrow hall enough without it!"
